In October 2018, WildBound hosted a youth art exhibition dedicated to themes of sustainability and polar conservation. This vibrant showcase featured a diverse array of artistic expressions, including traditional media such as paintings and photography, alongside an innovative virtual-reality wildlife experience. The exhibition served not only as a platform for young artists to present their work but also aimed to raise awareness about the critical issues facing polar ecosystems. Attendees were encouraged to engage with art and reflect on their connection to the environment, fostering a deeper understanding of conservation efforts.
Every June, WildBound celebrates Nature Poetry Month, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature through poetry. We carefully curate a selection of nature-themed poems, sharing them on our WeChat and Weibo platforms to inspire our community. Readers are encouraged to connect with us by suggesting their favorite poems or sharing their own creative works. For those who participate, we offer an exciting challenge: share our poetry posts to your WeChat Moments for 14 consecutive days to win a beautiful postcard from either Antarctica or the Arctic. This initiative not only highlights the power of poetic expression but also fosters a sense of connection with the natural world.
In July 2024, WildBound organized two enlightening screening and discussion events at The Linden Centre and the Cangshan Nature Image Museum in Dali, centered around the thought-provoking film “Journey of the Universe.” This film takes viewers on an extraordinary journey, exploring humanity’s place in the cosmos, from the birth of the universe to our current impact on Earth. The events featured esteemed guests Mary Evelyn Tucker, a prominent ecologist and scholar from Yale University, and John Grim, a senior lecturer at Yale and co-executive producer of the film. Their participation added depth to the discussions, as they shared valuable insights on the themes of cosmic evolution and our evolving relationship with the planet, inspiring attendees to contemplate their role in the greater narrative of life on Earth.
